When shelter-in-place orders took effect in spring 2020, we were disappointed to miss out on one of our favorite annual art rituals — visiting the MFA exhibitions at Bay Area colleges and universities. We believe in the importance of supporting artists in their professional growth and development, as well as the power of art to build community and promote conversation, so we wanted to help shine a light on some of the year’s graduates.
Curated by members of our Program Committee, this digital series features artists from six Bay Area schools: California College of the Arts, San Francisco Art Institute, UC Berkeley, San Francisco State University, Mills College, and Stanford. Over several months, we held virtual studio visits to learn more about them and their work. We are excited to introduce you to these stellar artists, and we can’t wait to see where their paths will lead in the years to come.
