The Live Oak Sound Series is a celebration of the Bay Area’s diverse community of musicians and songwriters, and a re-emergence of the safe, in-person show under a beautiful Live Oak canopy. Each event is an opportunity for cross-cultural exchange through music — subtle conversations between Mexican folk singers and sci-fi beat producers, traditional Indian ragas and haunting operatic ballads. They are an invitation to reconnect, with music at the center.

Shows will feature two performers that come from different musical traditions or backgrounds, sharing music in a safe, outdoor live environment. Advance tickets are required and capacity is limited. Per current public health guidance, seats will be assigned at check-in on the evening of the performance. Please note that tickets are nonrefundable.

In the spirit of community, face coverings are required, even if you are vaccinated, and nose and mouth must be fully covered except when drinking. Concessions will not be available, but you are invited to bring food and drink for a pre-show picnic in the park.

THE LONG ROAD SOCIETY is a record label, analog studio, and collective of individuals committed to making soulful music and building community in Oakland. We are interested in records, handwritten letters, analog tape machines, country life, urban culture, handmade gifts, unpolished human emotion, and creating community through music and art. We are not interested in shortcuts. We are purveyors and enthusiasts of cosmic American music — music created in America that has a cosmic, universal soul.
