Intimate Nature
Explorations in and around Berkeley Art Center

Participating artists: Kim Anno, Ricardo Rivera, and David Coll; Judith Selby Lang and Richard Lang; Mari Andrews; Alicia Escott; Terri Friedman; and Zach Pine.
An intimate exploration of the natural world, inspired by Berkeley Art Center’s idyllic setting in Live Oak Park and above Codornices Creek. The exhibition includes video installation, artists who work with ephemeral and recycled materials, and performative and interactive components that blur the physical separation of the gallery and its natural environment. Public programs will include a family day with outdoor activities including create with nature exercises and planting of natives in Live Oak Park, as well as a film screening and artists talk. GREEN: Berkeley Art Center Members Showcase

An annual tradition, Berkeley Art Center’s members showcase includes work in all media from Berkeley Art Center’s artist level members, presented in the center’s beautiful gallery space nestled in Live Oak Park. Featuring a wide array of perspectives and varied levels of accomplishment, this exhibition celebrates the diversity and vibrancy of our cultural community.
IDENTITY: Youth Arts Festival
February 3 – March 13, 2011
Students of all ages from Berkeley Unified School District present artwork based on the theme, Identity. Each participating school will identify a head teacher/artist to curate student artwork selections around this theme; accompanying programs will include school tours and a special performance by the Berkeley High Jazz Band.
